At Sofine Solar, we are committed to delivering all orders safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with South African regulations. This Shipping Policy outlines how we process, package, dispatch, and deliver all items purchased from our store, including solar panels, inverters, lithium batteries, generators, combo bundles, and solar air conditioners.


1. Order Processing Time

All orders are processed Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

  • In-stock items are typically prepared for dispatch within 1–3 business days.
  • Special-order or large-format items (such as solar panels, generators, and battery units) may require an additional 1–2 business days for handling and secure packaging.

Customers will receive an email confirmation once the order is processed, along with tracking details upon dispatch.


2. Delivery Areas

Sofine Solar ships throughout all provinces of South Africa, including but not limited to:

  • Western Cape
  • Gauteng
  • KwaZulu-Natal
  • Eastern Cape
  • Free State
  • North West
  • Limpopo
  • Mpumalanga
  • Northern Cape

We currently do not offer international shipping.


3. Delivery Partners

To ensure safe and reliable delivery, we make use of established South African courier and freight companies, including:

  • The Courier Guy
  • Dawn Wing
  • MDS Collivery
  • Fastway Couriers

Bulk, heavy, or palletised shipments (such as batteries, generators, or multiple-panel solar orders) may be delivered via specialised freight carriers to maintain safety and compliance with transport regulations.


4. Delivery Timeframes

Estimated delivery timeframes vary depending on the destination:

  • Major cities: 2–5 business days
  • Regional towns: 3–7 business days
  • Remote or rural areas: 5–10 business days

Delivery times may be affected by courier routing, weather conditions, or peak-season delays. Sofine Solar will always provide tracking information and updates where possible.


5. Shipping Fees

Shipping fees are calculated based on:

  • Weight and dimensions of the items
  • Delivery location
  • Type of service required (courier or freight)

Shipping costs will be displayed at checkout before you complete your order. Some promotional items or bundles may include reduced or free shipping, which will be clearly indicated on the product page.


6. Packaging and Handling

We take great care to package all products securely to minimise the risk of damage during transit.

  • Fragile items such as solar panels, inverters, and lithium batteries are packaged with protective materials and may be palletised for safety.
  • Large items such as generators are shipped in reinforced crates or manufacturer-approved boxes.

If any packaging appears damaged on delivery, customers are encouraged to take photos and report it immediately.


7. Delivery Requirements and Responsibilities

The courier company will deliver to the shipping address provided at checkout.
To ensure successful delivery:

  • The customer must provide accurate address details.
  • Someone must be available to receive and sign for the delivery.
  • Re-delivery fees may apply if the first attempt is unsuccessful due to an incorrect or unattended address.

Couriers cannot enter private properties beyond the point of normal delivery access. For heavy items, customers may need to assist with receiving the goods at ground level.


8. Lost, Damaged, or Missing Items

Sofine Solar complies with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) of South Africa and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act) regarding the safe supply of goods.

Damaged items

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or incomplete:

  • Email us within 48 hours at info@sofinesolar.com
  • Include photos of the packaging and item
  • Provide your order number and delivery details

We will assist with repair, replacement, or a suitable solution according to South African consumer law.

Lost parcels

If a shipment is lost or not delivered within the estimated timeframe, we will open an investigation with the courier. Resolutions may include replacement or refund depending on the outcome.


9. Click & Collect (When Available)

Customers may opt to collect smaller orders directly from our office by prior arrangement:

We will notify you when your order is ready for collection.
A government-issued ID or order confirmation is required at pickup.


10. Pre-Order and Backorder Items

Some high-demand products may be available on pre-order or backorder. Estimated arrival and dispatch dates will be communicated clearly. Payment is required to reserve these items. If lead times change, customers will be notified immediately.
